What type of skin care should I use if I have Rosacea?
People with Rosacea often suffer from extremely sensitive and easily irritated skin. You should avoid using any products that contain common irritants. A useful rule of thumb may be to select products that contain no irritating or unnecessary ingredients including, harsh lathering agents in cleansers, witch hazel, fragrance, menthol, peppermint, eucalyptus oil, clove oil and salicylic acid.
Sunscreens or sunblocks effective against the full spectrum of ultraviolet A and B radiation can be especially important for people with rosacea. Rosacea can leave facial skin particularly susceptible to sun damage and sun exposure can lead to consequent rosacea flare-ups. An SPF of 15 or higher is recommended, and physical blocks utilizing zinc or titanium dioxide may be effective if chemical sunscreens cause irritation.
